What is artificial photosynthesis?
Artificial photosynthesis is a man-made process used to replicate natural photosynthesis. Artificial photosynthesis converts water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight into energy, carbohydrates, and oxygen just like natural photosynthesis. Artificial photosynthesis can immediately collect and store energy that can be converted to electricity or chemical energy. The byproducts of this process are also eco-friendly and safe. However the materials used can easily rust in water and this is not yet capable of competing with fossil fuels.
